It just seems that both religions treat women like crap. They don’t allow women and status. The religions seem to be set up to make sure women are repressed and men are made kings of the world.
Please note I am talking about the establishment of religion, not your personal beliefs in Yahweh or Allah. This is a statement about organized religions.

Organized religion, whatever it may be Christianity, islam, Judaism. Its all suppressing to woman. But mostly Islam. Have you seen the way they treat their women? Cant show yourself, have to be hidden. Has to walk a few feet behind the man. Its bullshit, though all religion is. Its just a way to control people.
ALL religion is stupid and opressing to all man kind!

Over the past 2,000 years, there have been many great women honoured within Christianity, starting with Our Lord’s Blessed Mother.
I have been born and raised as a Roman-Catholic. No where in the Bible have I heard that women should be treated unjustly, or treated less then equal compared to men.
It’s what people have been taught is right, and it’s tradition for them.But to these people, this is normal and right for them. You have to respect people’s beliefs and their right to whatever religion- even if it doesn’t seem right.
yet again, another sweeping generalization…
altho there are fewer versions of islam, say 2, as compared to christianity, about 22, you need to realise the difference in everything from region to dilect to creed and race in this question.
for instance, in lutheran protestantism, many women have acceded to high posisitons in the curch, many pastors and higher clergy.
altho i am an athiest, i was raised lutheran and my father still prctices and has a masters degree in theology.
you may want to rethink a little bit of this question and try again.
I have never felt repressed or degraded in a Christian setting.
I think the reason women stay in organized religion is very diverse. She may have been raised that way and is indoctrinated to her fate. She may have fear of retribution. It may be a sense of safety, understanding her role and having a community. I think they are a lot of men and women who stay in religion but secretly don’t believe in a supernatural being.

Woman by nature are pacifistic – and do not want to struggle through life. Their choices are dictated by their sex, that of providing nurture to their children. It’s sad but true, 80% of the women in this world would rather let someone take care of them. And in poor societies – that’s’ the sperm donor.
I am Christian, my husband is Muslim, and no I dont feel "repressed" at all.
Well, I’m a Muslim girl, and I "put up" with my religion because I believe in it. I don’t see how my religion doesn’t allow women freedom, even though so many people seem to think people like me are "oppressed" because we make the conscious CHOICE to wear the headscarf and do everything else we do for God, not our husbands or fathers. Sure, there’s women who are repressed by ignorant men, but that’s despite religion, not because of it. If you want an example, in Islam, one of the rights of a wife is that if she makes money, she can keep it for herself and spend it on anything she wants. When her husband makes money, he has to spend it on her and their children. Why would men set it up like that?
The greatest quest for many of the insecure people is the desire to belong; as long as they can belong they will put up with endless amounts of suffering and even make believe that the nonsense they hear has some value.
In the Catholic Church, the most exalted human creature is the Virgin Mary–a woman, and the greatest creature who has ever lived–and who ever will live. God loves her more than ALL OTHER CREATURES COMBINED.

If you would read the New Testament you would find Jesus treating woman ( even prostitutes with love and respect and instructing His followers to do the same) it is religious Pharisees and Saducess who take abuse women, they are NOT true disciples or christians, it is NOT christianity that teaches these kinds of things but MAN who is still not submitted to God and uses Gods word and twist it for their own benefit.
Run from religion into the arms of Jesus – He is your only true friend you will ever have – the only one who truly loves you.
1. Relgion isn’t something you believe in because you like it. It’s something you believe in because you feel that it is the Truth.
2. Christianity does not degrade or put down women. There are many women pastors and priests, and even more women in church councils and other status-holding positions in the church. If you think that Christianity wants women to be repressed and men made king of the world, you have not done any investigation into this subject at all. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but it’s the honest truth.
3. I agree, there are many things wrong with established religions, which is why Jesus didn’t support religion. He supported a deep PERSONAL relationship with God. Not a relationship with your church or with your pastor or with the Pope. With the God Almighty. Having that relationship does not require you to go to church each sunday morning or to pay a tithe to the church or to be male. All it requires is communication and obedience, and the obedience is really just taking God’s advice because it’s better than ours.
Christian woman of profound faith here. I assure you, I am not repressed. What makes you think this? Because I can’t be a priest? A man can’t give birth to a child. Should he feel repressed?
It seems that some women prefer to be treated like ****. It is hard to believe that women could appreciate a fairy that hates them so.
