I guess it’s possible anywhere really, if you see someone who really takes your fancy. I don’t know about pick-up lines and that, most women probably find them a lil offputting anyway. Maybe just ask her a question? Pick up some ingredients you like and ask her what she thinks would go well with it. Can always ask her to come over and try it hehe.
Or you can go to any shop really, pick up something nice (purfume, jewellry etc) and say your buying it for your mum, sis whatever and ask her what she thinks. Makes you seem like a nice caring guy =D

Sure, go for it!! Just be friendly, and do it when it’s comfortable and non-threatening to her. Do it casually, if you’re looking at the same stuff in an aisle, just strike up a convo about anything just to break the ice. And yeah, if she responds well, ask if you could meet up with her some time for a drink or something. Get her number.
I don’t know about the pickup lines specifically for his situation but I’ve actually seen guys pickup girls at grocery stores. Start a convo about something she bought and ask her if she needs help to her car and if she lets you help her get her number as you leave. Your going to have to be smooth for this type of situation though.
