I know exactly what you mean. Friendly girls might think they're sending signals when to us, they're just being themselves. However, I really think it doesn't matter. The possibility of a girl not liking you back is no reason not to ask her out. Rejection will happen to you anyway, might as well sack up and see if she wants to hang out for something casual. In my experience, girls like men who are confident. They like dudes who are secure enough to not make a big deal out of simple things, like asking someone out on a date. Things I would pay attention to are, does she touch you, hit, poke, slap etc? If she's making contact it's because she means to. Give her the cold shoulder and see if she makes an effort to see what's up with you. Sometimes we can't tell what people are thinking because they're always having to react to us looking at them, following them, trying to talk to them etc. In this case, let it come to you.
