Hi, personally I am turned off by alpha males. You know, the type of guys who think their God’s gift to women, who are arrogant, cocky, who’s main purpose in life is to position themselves in places of power. Nothing annoys me more then a man without at least some degree of modesty.
I’ve always been sexually attracted to men who are kind, self-confident, intelligent, and sometimes shy. I find it charming and mysterious. I think there must be allot of women out there who are like me who if they were with an alpha male they would end up killing one another within a week.
How many women or gay men are attracted to alpha males?

I’m not,mostly because of the reasons you said.They think that they’re so great that often they don’t care as much about you.Just themselves and how people see them.
I’d take the smart & shy guy any day too.
Depending on the type of Alpha male that they are sometimes I find it to e very hot and other times I think that they are really annoying
Alpha males evoke some primal fear and revulsion in me…maybe I just realize they love themselves so well, mine would be redundant.
I like a man that isn’t indecisive…says what he thinks, but is open to hearing what others have to say … I was impressed when I met an old boyfriend for dinner and he suggested the entre instead of "duh, I dunno…what are you having?" I felt like I was with someone who could take charge of a situation if necessary. He’s very handsome, so when I told him that if I were single he’d probably be out of my league, he was so modest as to think that I had insulted him. A real alpha male isn’t the bully in your face, he is the man you can count on in any situation… even when he is truely the toughest cat on the block. As for my husband…he had me the minute he picked me up and carried me down Main St. on his shoulders (I’m not petite). When he walks into a room all the women notice him. He can hold his own in any situation. I may earn more wages, but he is still the king of the castle. A shy man would cramp my style. I am a vibrant female, so I need a strong male.
eeew! I do NoT like alpha males coz they are vain & self obsessed. And beyond that, it is difficult to communicate with them. It is difficult to be in any sort of relationship with them b’coz most of the time they don’t understand the meaning of compromise. I feel that being with a guy like that it becomes a one way relationship; always about him & his needs and wants! Anyway, I too like guys who are a bit on the shy side. They have a quiet charismatic nature to them that I find to be a real turn on.

I find alpha males a true physical turn on – but only if I’m in it for a quick, hot, exciting one-nighter. The sex is ALWAYS amazing with a strong, powerful, assertive, masculine alpha male. But that’s all they have. They’re not worth keeping for anything long term.
If I’m after something far more serious or long-term, then I’ll aim at a less arrogant man who can drag his attention away from himself for a moment to consider someone else’s needs. This is where nice guys ALWAYS win… although they do sometimes need more instruction in the bedroom : /
