My thoughts are to always look at them in the eye when they past by you and just simply do a smile or a smile with a ‘how’s it going?’

I think just being able to approach them and spark up a simple conversation is showing that you have confidence. Some guys are shy when it comes to approaching a woman and they may not even look them in the eyes. showing confidence could be as much as coming p to them and talking to them. it takes courage to do that alone. but dont be too confident or cocky
keep youre head held hi.and just look like you own the place.but not too cocky. its not something you act its what comes naturally.
You pretend that you have confidence even if you don’t. Pretend that you do. Tell yourself that the girl already likes you or that she would if she really knew you. I think you are already on the right track… look her in the eyes, smile ‘n say something like "how’s it going?" Be good to yourself to keep the smiles on your face. My brother used to carry a camera around to take pictures of a girl that attracted him. He would always ask first if he could take her picture; sometimes he didn’t even have film in the camera. But it was a good way to start up a conversation with a pretty girl, while his confidence was building… And btw, it doesn’t bother me if a guy is cocky, it makes me laugh.
