I've been wondering the same thing. From what I can tell is that as long as they smile and giggle at your jokes, even if they're not funny, you're doing okay. You're supposed to stay away from heavy topics and keep things light and funny. If they're listening to music, talking on the phone or anything else that seems important, don't bother. However, I'm in the same position and not very experienced. This is just what I've learned from my failures and from friends. Dude, you find out the answer and let me know!
