It’s not like I’m ugly or a dork i just don’t have many opportunities to meet women. I’m middle aged, work alot and don’t know how to approach a women for instance at the grocery store. The main reason i’m shy towards women is fear of rejection of coarse. i’ve scanned online dating services but am not to hip to putting my picture up for the whole world to view . IE the shyness

We have all been there my man. I also admire your courage and honesty. First of all the grocery store is a great place to meet women. Always look and smell your best before you go. Take a grocery list with you. It shows the women that are eyeing you from afar (which most men are oblivious too) that you are focused and organized. The first thing to remember is to only approach women that have "invited" you in. This could be glance and a smile, or a very quick "he caught me looking now I’m so embarrassed" type of thing. Your smile is your greatest weapon. It shows that you are harmless and a nice guy. If you get two or three of these glances of admiration then you get your ass over there quick with no hesitation because there is a very small window. No pickup line is needed, just a simple "Hello" in a even tone that denotes romantic interest. Remember she is already interested in you because of the multiple cases of distant eye contact (flirting). Ask her name and then questions pertaining to the food in her basket. If you see a pie shell and fresh apples then this is the route you take.
You: So it looks like apple pie tonight right? Do you have a recipe to die for?
Lady: *laughs and blushes* It’s my grandmother’s recipe to be honest………………..blah blah………….she really loved to cook……..blah….blah…….my whole family is very close.
Mental note: A family girl = strong moral values and a keen maternal instinct. Now here is where your humor comes in.
You: Wow that sounds great. If your granny cooked for me as a child I’d need a scooter to get around this store.
Lady: LOL funny.
You have connected with her on a personal level and have established yourself in a positive way. Now its time for a nice compliment. Never compliment on legs, breast, butts, or hips. That’s a no no.
You: That dress you’re wearing is absolutely amazing. Where did you get it.
Lady: *big kool aid smile* (she likes you) I bought it from Macy’s last week………………blah……..blah…………had to wait until they got it in in yellow.
You: It was definitely worth the wait because that color looks great on you.
Mental note: She waited to purchase this dress until the yellow one came in. (she likes yellow buddy). Now for the close. Use the power of suggestion.
Wrong way: I was wondering if a could have your phone number.
Right way: You really seem like great company Janet. We should get together and have some coffee sometime. Is their a number where I could reach you.
Remember to watch her body language. If she gives you lots of eye contact and laughs at your corny jokes you’re in good shape. If she treats you like the plague and continues to shop without acknowledging your presence then bow out gracefully. To help with nerves and fear visualize success before you approach. Think about you making her laugh and her enjoying your company. Remember fear is the mind-killer. If you wait to long your fear will make you hesitant and your lack of resolve after she has invited you in with her flirting will turn her off.
P.S. Remember to use her name quite often during conversation. Woman love to hear their name from guys they like. Also remember to wear a yellow shirt to the cooking class on your first date. Good luck

dont come on to strong at places like grocery stores because a lot of women are maybe there tired after work or whatever. You might just ask them if they know what isle the spices are on..then say..i cant ever find things in stores..bla bla..strike up conversation..if she looks away and doesnt seem interested..move on. If you have her full attention(and yes you can tell) say hey..how about it give you my phone number or something.
they key is…start up conversation. Do you have thier full attention or not..will tell you to make move or not make move. good luck
Try taking a class in something you’re interested in. It gives plenty of opportunity for conversation, assistance both giving and getting and a way to meet new friends and more. Try dancing, poetry and cooking is a great choice.
When in public places like the grocery, ask a woman for her help or offer to help her with carrying a heavy load. It’s worked for me more than once. Other places are libraries, coffee houses and bookstores.
Don’t give up baby, They’re out there. And probably looking for you. So many of us, single and looking, lonely and wanting to share our time with someone decent and kind. Nice to know there is a sweet fella like you on the same road. Gentle thoughts to ya.
From my point of view I dont like to be bothered by strangers, even if they are good looking. Someone says hi or bumps into me I freak out. Be careful my man. Other then that, be polite, be truthful, and strong. By strong I mean slowly let your walls down. Let her talk too. Dont ask all the questions.
