As in, ‘hey, that girl is really cute. I’d like to get to know her." or something like that so they can encourage you or help out? or do you just not tell them?

NO, not really.
No guy would ever say "that girl is really cute…I’d like to get to know her"
It’s more like "I would bang the fuck out of _____" which would be followed by, "yeah she has nice ______" which is the extent of the conversation.
Honestly.
We might ask another guy for help if he knows her well and can introduce her or something, but no you don’t really ask another guy for encouragement or anything.
